Bathurst selected as one of Atlantic Canada’s top employers
The City of Bathurst was announced as one of Atlantic Canada’s top employers. Organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, the competition evaluates employers based on eight criteria, including workplace, benefits, training, and community involvement.
“Over the past five years, we have dedicated our efforts to enhance our workplace culture, and the synergy within our various departments to maximize the positive impacts. I take this opportunity to recognize these efforts and the pride of our employees to be the best they can be, while receiving the best support for individual and collective growth. We are proud of this recognition, and it encourages us to only reach for higher goals and constantly improve”, said C.A.O. Todd Pettigrew.
Bathurst is the only New Brunswick municipality to receive the Top Atlantic Employer recognition in 2026 and is one of only 17 entities in New Brunswick and 60 in Atlantic Canada.
The sustained growth, diversification and development of Bathurst have been a long adventure, since the municipality’s incorporation as a city in 1966, this year marking the city’s 60th anniversary.
“Many people have called the corporation of the City of Bathurst their home away from home. They live here, work here and grow here. They have shown that by their efforts to constantly be the best of themselves. We’ve also supported their efforts with enhanced work-life balance opportunities. The result is a work environment we are collectively proud of. I congratulate our employees for their day-to-day efforts to be the best they can be, making this recognition one we can all be proud of”, said Mayor Kim Chamberlain.
