Flags at half-mast — Firefighter's National Memorial Day
The City of Bathurst will lower flags at all municipal facilities to half-mast from Friday, September 12 to Monday, September 15 in observance of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day.
This day is an opportunity to honour and remember the brave men and women who have lost their lives while serving their communities, protecting others, and making a difference. May their sacrifice never be forgotten, and may their families take comfort in knowing their courage continues to inspire us all to build a safer and better future.
This year, we also pay special tribute to Robert “Bob” Aubie, who passed away on August 18 at the age of 89.
Bob proudly served with the City of Bathurst Fire Department for 38 years and was a lifetime member of the Provincial Fire Chiefs Association. His dedication and service leave a lasting legacy in our community.
