TARGETED FLUSHING OPERATION — WEEK OF FEBRUARY 26, 2024

TARGETED FLUSHING OPERATION — WEEK OF FEBRUARY 26, 2024
  February 26, 2024

This week, the City of Bathurst's Public Works crews will be conducting a routine preventative maintenance program involving hydrant flushing. This strategic targeted flushing operation aims at maintaining (and improving) water quality, as it removes harmless sediment and mineral buildup from the water mains.

The program will take place over the next 4 days, in the following zones:

  • Tuesday, February 27 --> East Bathurst (15 hydrants)
  • Wednesday, February 28 --> South Bathurst (5 hydrants)
  • Thursday, February 29 --> St. Peter Avenue (7 hydrants)
  • Friday, March 1 --> Youghall Drive and Queen Elizabeth Drive (9 hydrants)

Residents / businesses in the area are advised to refrain from washing laundry and to periodically check their water quality by running COLD WATER for 10-15 minutes to verify if the water has cleared up.

While we're expecting to follow the above timeline, we will also provide a daily update/reminder to keep residents informed.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and reliable water supply for our community.
