Vanier Boulevard Bridge Closure Begins Today, October 9

The City of Bathurst advises residents that Vanier Boulevard is closing to vehicle traffic today, Friday, October 9, 2026, to allow for repair work on the bridge over the CN railway tracks near Sunset Drive.

The closure is expected to remain in place until early November, weather permitting.

Pedestrian access across the bridge will remain open throughout the work.

Traffic Detour

Motorists are asked to follow the designated detour via Highway 11, Ryan Avenue and St. Anne Street. Detour signage will be in place to guide traffic.

Please plan your travels accordingly, allow extra time and use caution near the work area.

The City thanks residents and motorists for their patience and understanding while these important repairs are completed.
