Bridge Street Bridge Reopens to Traffic

The Bridge Street bridge is now open to motor vehicle traffic following the completion of utility connection work at the bridge.

The temporary closure was required as part of the ongoing Bridge Street and Miramichi Avenue reconstruction project.

We recognize that the closure, along with other ongoing road work and detours throughout the city, has required additional patience from residents and motorists. We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation while this important work was completed.

We also thank the crews involved for their work in completing this phase of the project and reopening the bridge to traffic.

Work on the broader Bridge Street and Miramichi Avenue reconstruction project is still ongoing. Motorists are reminded to use caution in the area and follow the posted detour via Blanchard Avenue for the Miramichi Avenue construction zone.
