Bathurst Aquatic Centre to Undergo Annual Maintenance and Important Repairs
The Bathurst Aquatic Centre will be closed from August 23 to September 20, 2026, while annual maintenance and several important infrastructure repairs are completed.
An annual maintenance period is necessary to keep the Aquatic Centre operating smoothly and provides an opportunity to carry out work that cannot be completed while the pool is in regular operation.
This year's maintenance period will be longer than usual as several larger projects will be completed, including:
- repairs to tiles in the pool basin;
- repairs to the waterslide;
- replacement of pool filter media; and
- repairs to the air handling unit.
Completing these projects during the annual closure will allow us to address several important maintenance needs at once and help support the continued operation of the facility.
The last day of regular service will be Saturday, August 22, with a planned reopening date of Monday, September 21.
Daycare operations in the building are not affected by the Aquatic Centre closure.
