Honouring veterans with the poppy
From the last Friday in October to Remembrance Day, millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to never forget those who sacrificed for our freedom.
As of Friday October 25th, the Herman James Good V.C. Branch 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion will conduct the Poppy Campaign. Monies raised will be used to assist and support Veterans and their families in the Chaleur Region.
Poppy trays will be available at many local businesses.
The City of Bathurst encourages citizens to support members of the Herman J. Good V.C. Branch #18 Royal Canadian Legion in their efforts to support many initiatives, such as bursaries for High School students who are relatives of veterans, different cadet organizations in the area, and assisting in medical equipment purchases for Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Legion volunteers will also be present at their 1220 Bridge Street location, from Monday to Saturday between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, until Remembrance Day.
Lest We Forget.
