The City of Bathurst is proud to announce the nomination of Todd Pettigrew its new City Manager. His nomination was confirmed at the special public meeting of Bathurst City Council on Thursday November 9th. “Mr. Pettigrew brings forth a wealth of experience in professional engineering within the municipal and provincial landscape. His strategic approach towards continuous improvement and efficiency, combined with in-depth knowledge of municipal governance, made him an ideal candidate for the position. His operational knowledge, critical thinking and regional vision will surely enable us to build on our progress in day-to-day operations and strategic positioning for future development and economic growth”, said Bathurst Mayor Paolo Fongemie. Fongemie also thanked Edmundston Mayor Cyrille Simard for taking part in the selection process for the position of City Manager. A native of Bathurst, Todd Pettigrew earned his Bachelor’s degree of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. He worked at the New Brunswick Department of Environment (1999-00), the Saskatchewan Department of Environment (2000-05) and international aquaculture and marine company Cards Aquaculture Products (2005-08). He first joined the City of Bathurst in April 2008 as Director of Engineering, this for six months, before taking on the role of City Engineer. “I thank the members of Council and City Administration for this opportunity to embark on this continued mission of strategic growth in the City of Bathurst and the Chaleur region. I’m thrilled at the concept of working closely with Mayor and Council, staff, our residents and stakeholders as we continue to establish our path forward”, mentioned the new City Manager after his nomination. Todd Pettigrew officially assumed his new functions after Council’s resolution at Thursday’s meeting.
