Arrest for drug and contraband offences

On June 20th 2017, members of the Street Crime Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and Patrol Section with the Bathurst Police Force, in partnership with members of the Contraband Enforcement Unit with the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety, executed a search warrant at a residence situated in Bathurst, New Brunswick. Five individuals were arrested for drug and contraband cigarette related offences. As a result of the search, police seized substances believed to be methamphetamine (speed), hashish, marihuana, prescription medications and contraband cigarettes. Canadian currency was also seized. Charges are expected to be laid at a later date against a 58 year-old Bathurst man in relation to these arrests. A young child was removed from the residence and relocated for the evening with the assistance of Child Protection Services.
