Santa Claus Parade set for Friday December 10th
The City of Bathurst announces today that, after a year’s hiatus due to COVID-19, the Santa Claus Parade returns this year. The parade will be held on Friday December 10th at 6:30p.m. in the City’s Downtown. The event, usually organized by the Downtown Bathurst Revitalization Corporation (DBRC), will be coordinated by the City’s Recreation & Tourism Department exclusively for this year.
“As the DBRC is in the search of a new Manager, we’re happy to step in to help them out this year. There is high interest from families for this traditional event. Provided COVID-19 guidelines are respected and we have a minimal active case count in the area, we’re ready to present the parade to Bathurst and area residents”, said Mayor Kim Chamberlain.
The parade route will lead from the Bathurst High School parking lot, north on King Avenue, turning left on Main Street to finish at the Promenade Waterfront.
Groups and businesses interested in entering a float in the parade can contact Recreation Programmer Ryan Wilbur by email at Ryan.Wilbur@bathurst.ca or by calling the City’s Recreation and Tourism Department at 548-0410.
