Visiting Now
A Day at the Beach
Youghall Beach offers the quintessential coastal experience. Whether you're here to swim, soak up the sun, build sandcastles with the kids, enjoy a leisurely picnic, or take a scenic stroll along the shore, the beach invites visitors of all ages to relax and play in a picture-perfect setting. Wide open space and gentle waves make it an ideal destination for solo travellers, couples, families, and friends.
Things to Do
Many of the park's spaces stay open well past the summer season. Whether you'd rather walk the shore in the fall air or get a game going on the sand, Youghall Beach Park has room for it.
Lifeguard Services
Through the summer season, certified lifeguards are on duty every day from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., watching over a clearly identified, easily accessible swimming zone. Fishing is not allowed within the supervised swimming zone, and swimming is never permitted near the channel. Lifeguard services run through August 29, 2026; the 2027 schedule will be posted in June.
Groomed Sand
Feel the difference underfoot - Youghall Beach boasts some of the softest sand in Northern New Brunswick. Through the summer, City of Bathurst crews run a specialized beach cleaner each morning that removes seaweed, driftwood, rocks, and other small debris. Regular raking wraps up at the end of August and resumes next season.
Facilities & Accessibility
Youghall Beach is equipped with public washrooms and warm-water showers. Outside the summer season, washrooms are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the washrooms across from the playground stay open until approximately mid-October, and portable washrooms remain available on site.
Accessibility is a priority year-round: the beach includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance near the supervised swimming area, plus two floating beach wheelchairs available at no cost. To arrange one, contact the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department at 506-548-0410. During the summer season, you can also ask a lifeguard on duty.
Canteen
Through the warmer months, the on-site canteen operated by East Coast Adventures serves cold drinks and quick bites. Check their page for seasonal hours and reopening dates.
Thank You for a Great 2026 Season
We thank all residents, visitors and user groups for their cooperation and consideration throughout the summer, and for helping make the 2026 beach season another successful one. The shore is still here to enjoy - and we'll see you again next summer.
