Join the City of Bathurst’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC)

The City of Bathurst is inviting applications from community members to join the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC).
This committee plays a crucial role in guiding economic growth, advising Council, and connecting stakeholders—from local businesses to community groups—to help shape a vibrant, resilient Bathurst economy.
What is EDAC?
The Economic Development Advisory Committee assists City Council and Administration by:
- Acting as a liaison between the public, business community, and Council.
- Advising on economic development strategies and trends.
- Promoting research and identifying barriers to business.
- Recommending policies and initiatives to support economic growth.
- Engaging with provincial and federal representatives on key issues.

Who Can Apply?
We are seeking up to nine (9) voting members, including:
- At least one Council member.
- At least one representative from the Business Improvement Area (BIA).
- At least five members-at-large from the community.
Members-at-large should demonstrate:
- An interest or background in business.
- Academic or technical qualifications.
- Relevant experience (professional or volunteer).
- Availability and commitment to attend meetings and contribute meaningfully.
Desired expertise includes areas like: building and land development, retail, tourism, hospitality, manufacturing, agriculture, and professional services.
Meeting Frequency
EDAC will meet at least bi-monthly, with additional meetings as needed.
