Parks and Recreation Master Plan
The City of Bathurst has identified the need for, and has prioritized the achievement of, a clear and comprehensive 10-year vision-driven plan for parks, trails, recreation facilities, open spaces, community programs, and service delivery.
A new Parks and Recreation Master Plan, supported by public and stakeholder engagement, will better align decisions involving capital and operating dollars, as well as partnerships with neighbouring communities, with long-term community and municipal fiscal priorities. The geographic scope is the City of Bathurst, with consideration of the broader Chaleur region as relevant.
The City has commissioned Sierra Planning and Management – a multi-disciplinary planning firm, to develop the Master Plan which will be established through a comprehensive public engagement process, complemented by a through analysis of current and projected community needs and best practices.
We invite you to provide your input on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan project by participating in the following engagement opportunities:
When? Wednesday November 22, 2023, 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Where? Paul Ouellette Room at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre
The Parks and Recreation master plan public meeting will be an open session to engage with the public and various stakeholders. This will be your chance for your voice as citizens to be heard.
To do this correctly, we need input from a wide range of people; so, whether you are a daily user of recreation facilities, or just a seasonal enthusiast, your insights and ideas will help shape the future of our region.
