Answer to a need

New Brunswick’s remote areas are full of resources for different sectors, such as tourism, forestry, hunting, and fishing. Our forests and mountains are visited daily by thousands of people.

Unfortunately, about 20% of territory in New Brunswick does not receive sufficient cellular reception to allow a call. In the event of an accident, is there a way to contact emergency services?

About CRRA Applications

In those areas where cellular reception is overall poor, small areas can sometimes receive sufficient cellular reception to allow a call.

We have developed two applications that will allow users to add cellular reception points that they are aware of to a map. These points should be strong enough to make a phone call. Users can view the points added by the public, and those confirmed by CRRA's applications administrators.
