PUBLIC NOTICE (Under Section 25 of the Community Planning Act)
Notice is hereby given that Bathurst City Council intends to consider amendments to By-Law No. 2006-01 entitled "The City of Bathurst Municipal Plan By-Law” and City of Bathurst Zoning By-law 2008-01 entitled “The City of Bathurst Zoning By-Law” by changing the land use designation on the municipal plan as follows:
1578 Franklin Avenue:
The City of Bathurst has received a request from Garderie Bimbo to amend the Municipal Plan and Zoning By-Law for a portion the properties located at 1578 Franklin Avenue having the PID numbers 20239885 & 20517694. The application is to change the land use designation for a portion of the park to allow for the construction of a commercial daycare centre.
These properties are classified in the Municipal Plan as “RECREATION LAND/COMMUNITY PARKS” and in the Zoning By-law as “PARK/SPORTSFIELD (PK Zone) ”.
The application is to modify the designation for the Municipal Plan from “RECREATION LAND/COMMUNITY PARKS” to “RESIDENTIAL” and the Zoning By-Law from “PARK/SPORTSFIELD (PK Zone)" to "MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-3 ZONE)”.
City Council will meet 6:30 pm, Monday, July 20, 2020, to make a public presentation of the proposed amendments. Because of COVID-19 considerations, the temporary location for Council meetings is at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre, in the Paul Ouellette Room. Objections to the said amendments shall be received by the City Clerk’s office, in writing, no later than 3:00 pm, Friday, August 21, 2020. The City Clerk’s office is located in City Hall, 150 St-George Street, Bathurst N.B. E2A 1B5.
Council will meet at 6:30 pm, Monday, September 21, 2020 to consider written objections to the proposed amendments. Anyone wishing to address Council on the written objections may do so at that time.
