POLICE - Guilty plea in Attempted Murder charge

On January 12th, 2019, patrol members of the Bathurst Police Force along with members of the Criminal Investigation Division, responded to service call where information was received that a male person had discharged a firearm inside the Tom’s Bar licensed establishment, located at 208 St. Andrew Street in Bathurst.

Subsequently, Marc-André Belliveau, 40 years old, was arrested and a firearm was seized.

Following an investigation, the Bathurst Police Force opposed the release of Mr. Belliveau. He was later charged with Attempted Murder. 

On December 20th, 2019, Marc-André Belliveau pleaded guilty to the charge of Attempted Murder.Sentencing for Mr. Belliveau is scheduled for Friday January 31st, 2019 at the Bathurst Provincial Court.

No further comment will be issued at this time.
