City of Bathurst and firefighters ratify collective agreement

The City of Bathurst and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3040 have ratified a new collective agreement. This agreement, which is retroactive to January 1, 2017 and expires on December 31, 2019 represents a balance between what was important to the Corporation and the union local.

The Défi Nepisiguit Challenge will be making its return on October 7th & 8th, 2017. This two-day multi-disciplinary adventure race spans approximately 140 kilometres from Mount Carleton Provincial Park to Bathurst, New Brunswick.
PRESS RELEASE - Balanced budget and no tax increase in Bathurst for 2017

Bathurst City Council completed its’ budget exercise and approved the city’s budget for 2017 at Monday night’s regular Council meeting. The 2017 General Operating Budget is established at $24, 767, 285 and the Utility Operating Budget is established at $6, 564, 417.

LEAF RELIEF – Leaf Disposal Program

Please be advised that this fall, the City of Bathurst is once again accepting leaves and branches for disposal. A site will be set up at the salt dome located on Riordon Avenue in the Industrial Park to accept yard waste. Only residents will be permitted to use this site; commercial yard waste cleaners are not permitted.

The gates will be open from November 14th to November 30th, 2016 Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
