- Responsible for the operation of city owned recreation facilities (K.C. Irving Regional Centre; Youghall Beach, Ball Fields;2003 Canada Games Pavillion Gymnasium)
- Organize and partner in the planning of special events (Sports Hall of Fame; CCNB Day; Terry Fox Run)
- Plan and operate all recreational programs (Summer; seniors; skating; waking track)
- Operation of the Visitor Information Centre during the summer months and provide tourism related information as requested
