Project Webfoot

In 2008, Daly Point Nature Reserve signed a historic 30-year wetlands stewardship agreement with Ducks Unlimited Canada.

In 2012, after hosting a site inspection by DU interpretive and education specialists, Daly Point has signed on for another partnership endeavor, Project Webfoot. Ducks Unlimited Canada sponsors classes of grade 4 students so they may participate in education on the value of wetlands and their conservation. Teachers deliver the classroom component, followed by a field trip to the Daly Point Nature Reserve, where outdoor workshops are conducted by the coordinator and volunteers. These include activities such as Critter Dipping, where students get to examine organisms first hand; bird identification; and environmental games.

The Reserve can host as many as 15 classes from across the region during the months of May and June.
