Acadien Historical Village

One of the most authentic historical sites in North America (Phoenix Award Winner and Attractions Canada 2001/2002), the Village Historique Acadien strives to portray the lives of Acadians between 1770 and 1939. Interpreters in period costumes staff more than 40 restored original buildings to provide a living portrait of ancestral customs and traditional trades. Each of them has a story to tell! Allow a minimum of 3 hours for a complete visit.

The Village Historique Acadien is located near Caraquet, in northeastern New Brunswick, 50 km/30 miles east of Bathurst and 130 km/78 miles north of Miramichi.

Atlas Park

Located just 20 minutes from Bathurst, the Recreational and Tourist Centre at Atlas Park is built around an old quarry thirty meters deep.  The quarry is now a 26,000 square meter lake filled with cool, clear water. The chalet's reception area is a tourist information centre which welcomes visitors to relax in the cafeteria, the lounge, or on the outdoor terrace, all with a superb view of the lake.

During the summer, Atlas Park offers the following activities: scuba diving, fishing, rowboats, paddle boat tours, walking paths, an amusement park for children, barbecues, and picnic grounds.

During the winter months, you will be amazed by our under-ice scuba diving, our cross-country ski and snowmobile trails, the ice rink on the frozen lake, and the huge fun slide.

No matter which season it is, the Atlas Park facilities will keep you busy during your stay. Located in Pointe-Verte, with access from Hwy.11, Exit 333 or Hwy 134 Exit Gare Street. For more information, call: (506) 783-3717
